Project description:
Central Park West Dentistry is a long-time fixture in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The goal of their new space at 1881 Broadway was to consolidate multiple small nearby practices with an economical yet high-end clinical space. The design strategy for this space implements a central armature that defines the entry and waiting area, then splits and tapers as it moves down patient corridors. White oak millwork unfolds through the space as the armature continues. Treatment rooms are organized in blocks off of the main corridor, and other critical program elements pocket off the armature.
The design prioritizes patient experience and practice functionality in equal parts. Multiple dental equipment consultants were brought in early on, and continued to give feedback throughout construction. The clinicians use a cart delivery system for cleanings and procedures.
The space measures 4549 gross square feet. Construction was completed mid 2025.
