Project description:
Teak for Two House took a small awkwardly partitioned two family townhouse and transformed it into bright and open single family oasis for a couple and their dog. The ground floor was opened from the front of the house to the rear with a singular teak clad jewel box installed along one side to enclose a kitchen, powder room, and storage. An open wood stair with integrated millwork seating connects the three levels of the house while simultaneously bringing in light from above via a series of skylights. The master bathroom on the 2nd floor continues the motif of inserted volumes with the addition of a teak clad shower. The material palette for the interiors utilizes teak and brass highlights with lacquered gray and white doors and cabinetry to merge the dual desires of the client to have modern interior with organic accents.
