Gowanus Tower
The Gowanus Tower is a new 8 story mixed use building in a Brooklyn manufacturing district. Being built initially as mixed-use light manufacturing, it is designed to be converted to residential use after the Gowanus area zoning change. It is conceived as two volumes, with a base containing four individual units, a gap, and a two story penthouse with sweeping views across Brooklyn. The gap will contain a lap pool for the owner of the penthouse. The base volume will be clad with a Fiber C concrete panel, a solid ground upon which sits the lighter, more sculptural and open upper volume of the penthouse. The top two floors will receive a wood panel rain-screen cladding by Prodema. Each of the lower floors will accommodate a full floor two-bedroom apartment. Download PDF
